A standard wefted cap, often referred to as the traditional or basic wig cap is made up of hair that has been stitched on tied to fabric strips referred as wefts. They are then weaved over the cap's head to simulate the natural growth of hair, which makes it cap one of the more common and cost-effective cap designs that are available today.

The open wefted cap is like its traditional model, but offers a more natural look and feel because its wefts aren't as hefty, and have some breathing room between each row of wefts. As it's less likely to loosen over time it is often preferred by women with sensitive scalps who need wigs with less weight.

Hand-tied caps come in various designs. Each fiber is hand tied to the cap for an appearance that is more natural and light feel. However there is a chance that the ventilation won't be as great.
